17 August 2026: account merge and pairwise sub

Swaymoon Account now lets a user soft-merge another account’s sign-in methods into the account they are using. For apps already integrated:

Compatibility
Users who already authorized your team keep the same sub after a merge. Do not rotate your local primary key, and do not treat the merge as a new user.

Summary

• Merge transfers phone numbers, emails, GitHub, and Microsoft. Username, password, passkeys, two-factor, and profile do not transfer.
• Pairwise sub values already issued to your team are kept. They are not deleted or rotated. If the kept account had no sub for your team yet, it reuses the same sub from the merged-away account.
• Later UserInfo profile claims follow the account they kept; sub still comes from the original pairwise mapping.
• An account that belongs to a developer team cannot be the merged-away side. A mistaken merge can be restored by a technical advisor through Report a Problem.
