Hide My Email

Hide My Email
Hide My Email (also called private relay email) in Swaymoon Account hides your real email from a third-party app when you sign in or authorize it. Developers and apps only see a relay mailbox that looks like an alias address; mail is still forwarded to the real email you linked. You can turn an alias off at any time.
This capability is comparable to common “hide my email” designs. Product copy and relay notices may use both “Hide My Email” and “private relay email”; they mean the same thing.
Before you start
- Sign in to Swaymoon Account at passport.swaymoon.com.
- In Sign-In & Security, link and verify your real email (Hide My Email depends on the real email to receive forwarded mail).
- Open the Privacy page to see assigned addresses, or choose Hide My Email when authorizing a third-party app.
If no email is linked, the authorization page cannot offer Hide My Email.
How you get a Hide My Email address
Hide My Email addresses are currently assigned automatically only when you authorize a third-party app and choose Hide My Email, and they are bound to that app.
In Privacy → Hide My Email:
- Apps: View addresses assigned automatically at authorization, the related app, and whether they are enabled.
- Generate manually: The ability to generate an address yourself in Account is not available in your country or region yet.
- When you no longer trust an address, you can pause it or remove the alias from the account. After it is turned off, mail sent to that alias is no longer forwarded.
Sensitive actions (such as pausing / removing an alias) may ask you to re-verify your identity.
How mail reaches you
When someone sends mail to your Hide My Email alias:
- The message is delivered to the Swaymoon Hide My Email relay.
- The relay rewrites headers, then forwards the message to your real email.
- You can still see your alias address in the inbox. The top of the body usually includes an “original sender” notice so you can tell where it came from.
- Some mail clients may not show the sender fully in the list preview; rely on the notice in the body.
- The relay does not keep message content long-term: after forwarding finishes, the relay deletes that message’s body and attachment copies within a few seconds (not stored in a database, not archived).
When you reply, the reply goes back to the other party through the relay and does not expose your real email address (while the feature is enabled and working). Reply content is likewise cleared from the relay within a few seconds after forwarding finishes.
Limits you should know
- Hide My Email reduces leakage of your real email. It cannot guarantee that senders stay anonymous, and it cannot filter all junk or fraudulent mail.
- Do not use Hide My Email for illegal activity, harassment, or large-scale abuse; we may limit or turn off related aliases and capabilities.
- If a third-party app already has your real email through other means, turning off an alias cannot take back information it already holds.
- Relay forwarding depends on network and mail-service availability. In extreme cases it may be delayed or fail.
- Generate manually in Account is unavailable in some countries or regions. Automatic assignment during authorization is unaffected (you still need a linked real email).
