Privacy Policy
Effective date: 17 August 2026
Swaymoon (“we”) values your privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when providing Swaymoon Status (the “Service”, at status.swaymoon.com), and the rights you have. By using the Service you acknowledge this Policy; where we need separate consent, we will obtain it in the relevant flow.
Subscription uses sign-in with Swaymoon Account. How the Account itself handles personal information is covered by the Swaymoon Account Privacy Policy. This Policy covers only information that Status processes additionally or independently.
This Policy is prepared with reference to the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and other applicable requirements. Where cross-border processing or UK/EU users are involved, we follow the stricter of UK GDPR / GDPR practices as a principle.
1. Information we process
1.1 Browsing the status page (signed out)
You may browse public status, incident summaries, and access-path probe results without signing in. In that case we may process access logs needed for security and availability (such as source IP, request time, User-Agent), minimized where feasible.
1.2 Sign-in and subscription
To complete OAuth / OIDC sign-in and manage subscription, the Service may process and store:
- Swaymoon Account identifier (
sub) and display name - Email (provided by Swaymoon Account within authorized scopes; if you choose Hide My Email, the authorized result controls)
- Subscription on/off state, unsubscribe token, created and updated times
- Session identifiers and short-lived sign-in state (such as PKCE parameters and redirect URI)
1.3 Notice delivery
After you turn on subscription, we send incident and maintenance mail to that mailbox (from status@mail.swaymoon.com). Mail may include incident title, status notes, links, and a path-probe snapshot.
1.4 What we do not actively collect
We do not require sensitive personal information unrelated to subscription merely to browse the status page. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or secrets to any status-related mailbox.
2. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|
| Provide the Service | Show status, incidents, maintenance, and access path |
| Subscription notices | Send mail per your switch; process unsubscribe |
| Security | Session checks, anti-abuse, troubleshooting |
| Legal obligations | Respond to regulators; handle security incidents |
Information necessary to turn on subscription (including account identifier and email) is processing required to provide the subscription feature.
3. Sharing, transfer, and public disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share or disclose only in these cases:
- Swaymoon Account: identifiers and claims within authorized scopes needed for sign-in flow between Account and this Service.
- Processors: such as cloud infrastructure and mail delivery providers (for example Alibaba Cloud DirectMail). They may process data only on our instructions and only as needed to provide the service.
- Legal requirements: under laws and regulations, litigation, or mandatory requests from competent authorities.
Incident notes on the public status page are shown to the public and generally do not include your personal contact details.
4. Storage and cross-border processing
Subscription and incident data are mainly stored in server environments under our control. Because of dual-edge deployment and mail delivery, processing may involve infrastructure in different regions. We take reasonable measures to protect transmission and storage.
5. Retention
- Subscription records: after you unsubscribe or Account deletion-related flows complete, we delete or anonymize as business and compliance require, unless law requires otherwise.
- Access and security logs: retained only as reasonably necessary for security and troubleshooting.
- Public incident history: may be kept longer for transparency, without thereby extending retention of your personal contact information.
6. Your rights
Under applicable law you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, withdraw consent, and more. You may turn off subscription in the Service; rights related to Account profile should be exercised via Swaymoon Account or Report a Problem.
7. Minors
The Service is for general users. If you are a minor, use it under a guardian’s guidance, and be careful about turning on subscription.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Policy and publish it in Docs. Material changes will be communicated in a reasonable way.
